lalo for LA City council

District 14

For decades we've elected career politicians, and all we’ve gotten in return is corruption, racism, and betrayal in our city council. My name is Eduardo Ezequiel Vargas, but my family calls me "Lalo". I'm a public school teacher, a tenant organizer, a former first responder, and a proud socialist running for LA City Council in District 14.

We’re Running a socialist campaign for City council

My whole life, I have seen how capitalism uses and abuses families like my own. That’s why I became a socialist. I believe in building a society in which we can meet the needs of the majority - the working class.

In one of the richest cities in the world, there is no excuse for the poverty, homelessness, evictions, and the oppression that working class families face every day in Los Angeles.

The pandemic made clear who the true essential workers are. Healthcare workers, educators, domestic workers and childcare providers, agricultural workers, truckers and delivery drivers, and so many more who kept our city running throughout a global health crisis.

It’s time we fight for a system where power is in the hands of the people who make this city run.

It’s time we fight for socialism.

“as a fellow teacher and longtime resident of cd14, there is no other person that would be more qualified TO champion working class issues than lalo vargas.”
